Thank You! ~ Thank You!

“When you practice gratefulness, there is a sense of respect towards others.” – Dalai Lama

Has anyone ever stopped you and just told you thank you for doing something you probably would have done anyway? Or maybe someone tells you that they have noticed you are going out of your way to do something or sees you going above and beyond at work. Maybe you are working extra hard at school and your teacher notices and really appreciates how hard you are trying. Doesn’t that make your heart happy? We love it when we are appreciated and told thank you, but how often are we making others feel the same way?

Sometimes we get so caught up in our busy lives we forget how much other people are a part of them. We forget how much others have done for us. Who taught you how to cook? Who was your example of your work ethic? Who did your laundry growing up? If it was you, who taught you? How great would it be to recognize someone out of the blue for something they did for us or taught us years ago?

What about your education? Has there been a teacher, coach or a person at a school that has had an impact on you? Have you ever let them know what they meant to you and how they have changed your life? Surprise someone!

For the rest of this month, I am going to pick someone each day and make sure they know why I am grateful for them or what they do. Even if it is a stranger! I want others to feel appreciated and loved. By giving a simple affirmation to someone, you could totally change their day! I invite you to do the same and brighten the lives of a bunch of people.

“Hey Mom! Thanks for teaching me how to fold a fitted sheet. Seriously, I mean it! If it weren’t for you, our linen shelves wouldn’t look nearly as neat and tidy! You are the best! Love you! Sneak!”
